Balanced Eating, A Good Rule of Thumb for us All

green beans & cheeseIf you’ve visited our Dinners for Life web site, you’ll know that the primary reason we created our Dinners for Life product was to provide persons dealing with diabetes a solution to the daily question, “What’s for dinner?”  During the time we were developing our new product offering, we heard one thing over and over. When it comes to managing blood sugar or just simply living healthier, it’s about eating regular food in appropriate portions, along with a healthy balance of vegetables, fruits, proteins and grains.  It’s not about eating less or more, but eating right.  A general rule of thumb we could all follow, no matter what health issues we face.

We recently found an interesting article on the web site, Medical News Today, about a recent study conducted by the Wake Forest University School of Medicine.  In it they talk about the need for continuing nutritional education.

Important Nutritional Recommendations Not Being Met By People With Type 2 Diabetes

People with type 2 diabetes are not consuming sufficiently healthy diets and could benefit from ongoing nutritional education and counseling, according to a new study by researchers at Wake Forest University School of Medicine and colleagues.

The study appears in the August issue of the Journal of the American Dietetic Association.
